I am trying to export schemas from our remote database to local. These schemas already exist in my local database but need to be refreshed every two weeks for new data. Here are my questions:

1. Do I need to drop these schemas, pre-create the schemas and then import all the tables the schemas speficying the schemas

2. Do I need to simply truncate all the tables, indexes etc to accomplish a good import.

3. Do I need to drop these schemas (using the cascade option) and import these schemas without pre-creating the schemas.

I am looking for the most effective and fastest way of accomplishing this. Please provide any solutions for this

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Mad

As you gonna refresh your local database every 2 weeks
then go with your 1 option.

Yes. I would have to re-grant the schemas privileges and quotas. Another question: should I drop the schemas do I need to coalesce the tablespaces their objects occupied?

No need to coalesce any tablespaces, unless you are using one of those really old versions of the database from 1900's.
