Hi sorry for the basic post but i am completly new to Oracle. just wondered if some kind person could possibly help me out in my quest for a position using Oracle10G database.

I am going for an interview in a couple of weeks and have most of the boxes ticked on basic Windows server management but the post MAY involve some Oracle10G server knowledge to both as as end user and also Oracle10G management.

Question1 -I know Orqacle is a RDBMS but does it run on top of a Windows server if so which verisions of Windows?
Question2 -I would also appreciate anyone taking the time to post what the basic benefits are on Oracle10G as opposed to 8i or 9.

Thanks to all who take time to reply in adavnce

Question 1- Oracle version depends on Windows version
Question 2- Have a look at "New features" book available for each version at http://tahiti.oracle.com

Michel

Can't seem to access the site link you provided even although i am logged in. I take it that the Metalink is a higher level of access required.

Thanks for the reply though much appreciated

You need to have a valid Oracle CSI in order to access Metalink.

Question 2 - Automatic Storage Management (ASM) is a big benefit.

Also take a look through the documentation;
