Hi frnds,

I am newbie to dba....

I am getting the following error when i am trying to execute queries in my database.

"ORA-04031: unable to allocate 16384 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","unknown object","kgghtInit","kgghtInit")"

there seems to be some problem with the size of shared pool.please correct me if i am wrong

Can any one of you please tell me the root cause of the problem along with the solution?

Immediate help would be appreciated.

Thanks

And maybe you don't have a problem with shared pool size but with your application.
Ask your DBA to execute StatsPack and analyze the parse ratio and waits on shared pool caches.
