EXPORT using QUERY [message #228012]

Hi,

I hope you can help. I have an EXPORT command that uses the QUERY parameter. In one of the servers, it failed. The EXPORT version in this server is 8.0.6.3.0. I believe this is because QUERY is only available in 8i which is 8.1 and up.

Is there a way to filter data in 8.0.6.3 similar to what QUERY does? if not, what is the easiest way to upgrade the EXPORT utiliy?

Upgrade the DB to a version that has been supported in this century.

I am working with a customer and I don't know why they are still using 8.0.6 Export version.

To upgrade the export utility, can this be done on just the utility or should the whole DB be upgraded?

When transfering data via exp/imp between dissimilar versions, you MUST use the exp of the lower version DB.
This restriction is builtin & can NOT be circumvented, AFAIK.
