Hi,
We have a production database of around 400GB and planning to add one more module to the existing infrastructure.
to analyze this, what are the factors we need to consider with respect to database and server h/w.
Your valuble suggestion are really helpful for me.

Question is very broad, without any useful information to startwith.

Depends on this "infrastructure".
Depends on nature of database/business.
Depends on Application/OS.
I would look into backup/restoration/tapes and archiving, possible downtimes,volume of data/transactions/users and its relation to the performance
