Well, bad news for you selva!

Oracle 7.3 can be installed on some unix systems like Solaris etc etc. but it was never realeased for Linux, Linux release for oracle was started from Oracle 8.0.

PLEASE LOOK AT THIS PAGE

http://www.dbspecialists.com/presentations/LinuxWorldTutorialHK.html

Find the following String on the page:
Quote:

Oracle 8.0 and later on Linux, since Oracle 7.3 was never released for Linux

The Difference if we talk about the Development / Programming no difference.
But if you go to the administration things things are only different where the Windows And Unix are different in managing memory architectures and file systems etc. etc. So we can say that its not what is the difference in oracle , its what is different in these two oerating systems.

Hope you got my point. Smile

Regards.
Liza

Only in the installation and DBA side there will be a major difference..

In development point of view , there wont be much difference..

ok LIZA

take care and bye
