Hi,

I have installed oracle 9i and 10g on my system.oracle 10g is working fine.But i am not able to start oracle9i database. I have installed oracle path level5. After that i am getting error like "could not start database on local computer"
error 1053:the service didnot respond to the start or control is in timely fashion"

Plz help me out

This problem has troubled me a lot.Go to the DBCA of oracle 9i. Create another database. Set the status to manual of both the databases. First try to start the new one and then the previous one. This is actually how i am running my oracle. Try it.
