Hi
Curren Envt: Oracle 8.1.7/Win NT.
Currently we have a database link between our Prod DB and the Reports DB.
Through this DB link and a set of Stored procedures we do certain operations on our Report DB by sending the data from the Prod DB.
Now, we have a 10g Database on the New Server(Windows 2003).
And wanted to have a similar relation between our Prod Server(8i) and New Server (10g)
I would like to know
1) if there are any issues with a database link between different versions.
2)Also, I am not sure if the RTS function calls the Reports database directly or if it is simply a call from the one stored procedure in the production database.
Could you please share your inputs on this issue.
